College Closed on Monday, February 23

Due to inclement weather, Community College of Philadelphia will be closed on Monday, February 23.

All 7A online and hybrid courses will continue as scheduled. Any scheduled on-campus final exams for 7A courses will be rescheduled. Faculty will contact students directly. All other online, hybrid and in-person classes, work, and activities are canceled. Please note that class cancellations do not apply to students in clinical rotations or those who are scheduled at off-site practicum/observation sites or internships. Program coordinators for clinical rotations, off-site practicum/observation sites and internships should communicate directly with their students regarding tomorrow’s schedule as needed.

There are several resources to help you reach or maintain a healthy weight in order to lower your risk for diseases and medical issues.

Wellness Coaches Nutrition Counseling

  • Wellness Coaches has a team of registered dieticians that provide individualized nutrition information. The recommendations are specific to you increasing your rate of success in reaching your nutrition goals, disease management and weight loss.

Independence Blue Cross insurance members can take advantage of six free visits with a network dietitian per year. No referral is needed, and no copay is required.

Portion Control and Food Choices

Eating healthy is a journey shaped by many factors, including our stage of life, situations, preferences, access to food, culture, traditions and the personal decisions we make over time. IBC Reimbursement for Weight Management Programs

Enroll in Weight Watchers,® Weight Watchers® Online or an approved weight management program at any network hospital and the Healthy Lifestyles Solutions Weight Management Program will reimburse you up to $150 for the cost of an approved weight management program.

  • Not eligible: dietary supplements, injections, meal plans, online programs other than WWOnline, programs at a medical practice other than a hospital
  • A healthy weight reduces your risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke

You can request your reimbursement by submitting proof of participation and payment.

If attending Weight Watchers in person, you will need to submit receipts and copies of your booklets. If participating in Weight Watchers Online, you should submit screen prints to show proof of payment and progress in the program.

If attending a hospital-based or youth program, proof of payment and participation is required.

Once all of your documentation is submitted, you can request your reimbursement to be paid by direct deposit or American Express rewards card. American Express charges a fee of $4 plus 3 percent of reimbursement amount.
