College Employee Discounts
On-campus Discounts and Services
Located in the Pavilion. Open all year and following college dates. Follett will offer College Faculty & Staff a 10% discount on all purchases over $1.00, excluding textbooks, sales merchandise, computer hardware, and academically discounted software. You need to show your college ID for the discount.
Located on the bottom level of the Pavilion building on 17th Street. The cafeteria is contracted out to a private food service firm. The cafeteria is open for breakfast, lunch and evening snacks. They have two hot daily meal specials, salads, soups, sandwiches, grill items, soda, desserts and full catering services. Anyone who loses money in any campus vending machine, please see the staff in the cafeteria for an immediate refund. To utilize the catering services call ext. 6181.
The Lion Card is your College ID card. Lion Card funds are accepted as payment in the bookstores, cafes and at select main campus vending machines, as well as in the main parking garage (minimum balance required to enter). The card holder can load funds onto their Lion Card in person with cash, or online with a credit or debit card. Cardholders can deposit money onto their Lion Card at a ‘cash to card’ valueport machine located outside the Lions Café on main campus and in the main lobby of NERC. The Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) operates a branch within the lobby of the Bonnell building by. Surcharge-free ATMs will be available at the Main Campus, West Regional Center, Northwest Regional Center and the Northeast Regional Center.
Culinary Arts Program
Students of the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Program prepare and serve gourmet lunches for employees and students on Wednesdays during the Fall and Spring semesters. The cost is $10.00 and the meal includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Reservations are needed. Call the Culinary Arts Department at ext. 8797.
The Child Development Center is located at 540 N. 16th Street, adjacent to the Bonnell Building. The Center serves children from 6 weeks old to 5 years, and is open year-round. The hours of operation are 7 AM to 6 PM. The Center is licensed by the City of Philadelphia and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Children of college staff will be provided first opportunity to enroll on a first come, first serve basis; faculty and students receive a discount on the registration fee. Note that there is often a waitlist near the beginning of the academic year. For more information or to register your child, please call the Center at 215-751-8764.
The College has three parking lots; an open lot on 17th Street, a multi-parking garage on 17th Street, and a garage at the CBI Building. There is a short waiting list to get reserved availability (pre-tax monthly payment) at the four parking areas. For daily parking, employees must use the main parking garage on 17th Street. Upon leaving you can use either the 17th or 18th Street exit; you must pay at the machine with cash or credit card and get a receipt. The current cost is $5.50/day. You can also use your College ID badge (Colonial Card) and load it with money and then just swipe to get in and swipe to get out!
The College gym is located in the building between the Student Life Building and the West Building. You need to swipe your College badge to enter. The gym and all scheduled classes are open to employees. There are separate employee-only men’s and women’s locker rooms complete with showers. You may use any empty locker; just bring a combination lock. Lockers may be reserved each semester. The second floor of the gym has racquetball courts, rooms for exercise classes, a weight room with nautilus equipment, another fitness room with treadmills, stair climber, bicycles. The gym offers classes in Aerobics, Yoga, Karate, Zumba and special events, outings and tournaments. Brochures and schedules are available at the gym.
Indoor Walking Path
In addition to the College Walking Club, Spring Garden Strollers, we have an indoor walking path available to anyone at any time. It’s a half mile route and takes you through the Mint, Bonnell and West buildings. The starting point is in the Mint building, second floor right in front of the Boardroom. If you are facing the boardroom go left and start walking down the hall. You will see signs posted with arrows for the trail. Always follow the perimeter of each of the three buildings next to the outside wall and/or windows. You will wind up back at the Boardroom. Twice around equals one mile and should take the average person about 20 minutes.
Located in the Bonnell Building. All employees may use the services of the library at main campus and at Northeast Regional Center and Northwest Regional Center. Employees and students must have their College ID badge to use all services. The library has educational and leisure reading books, newspapers, journals and research computers. To locate a book, find hours of operation, check out lending policies, go to the Library website.
Family Food’s registered dieticians conduct free one-on-one employee nutritional counseling sessions on campus year-round. Blue Cross members are eligible for six free nutritional counseling sessions. Family food completes all paperwork on your behalf: no need to pay up front and wait for reimbursement! Main campus sessions are held in the HR annex; sessions are also available at each regional center. The College provides a host of wellness programs for employees throughout the year such as on-site mammography screenings, blood pressure screenings, health fair, wellness lunch & learn sessions, free flu shots, weight watchers program and many others. Professional Development/Learn U
Community College of Philadelphia is pleased to offer professional development opportunities to our faculty and staff free of charge. Visit the Training section for an overview of the options. For E-learning opportunities, known as Learn U, log into MyCCP and select the "Employee" tab along the top of the page, then click the “SkillSoft e-Learning” link in the "Administrative Forms and Links" section. To enroll in an online course, you must first complete the web form to request a username and password specifically for LearnU / SkillSoft. Web form requests are electronically forwarded to the Human Resources Department. You will receive an email response from HR providing you with your personal username and password, and the web link to access the SkillSoft login page. Please allow up to 2 business days for requests to process.

College employees can get a 10-30% discount for select performances. You can check out the Corporate Ticket Program website. Select your concert of interest and click “buy tickets,” then enter the code CCP into the promotion box. This code will adjust the pricing for all available seats in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center. You will then have the option to print the tickets at home, have them mailed or left at will call. The Philadelphia Orchestra also offers the eZseatU program, allowing full-time college students the opportunity to see unlimited concerts all season for an annual membership fee of only $25; see the Philadelphia Orchestra website for details.
Six Flags/Great Adventure
Log onto the Six Flags website with Username: ccpga Password: SixFlags1 (case sensitive) to buy tickets with substantial savings off the main gate price. This online benefit program offers not only substantial savings, but allows you to "print and go" so you have your ticket in hand when you get to the park with no waiting in the line to purchase.
Tickets at Work

Higher Education Partnerships
Arcadia University Tuition Discount
College employees can get 50% discount on tuition at Arcadia University. Interested employees must declare their employment status during the application process with Arcadia, at which point Arcadia will provide the employee/potential Arcadia student with the Employee Discount Form. This form must be completed by the employee and College Office of Human Resources to qualify for the tuition discount. Confirmation of employment must be submitted each semester for the discount to be applied. Please note that the College's forgivable loan policy applies to employees taking classes at Arcadia.
Drexel University Online
Community College of Philadelphia has a program-to-program "letter of understanding" agreement with Drexel University Online. This agreement includes bachelor’s, graduate certificates, master’s, and doctoral programs; and awards reduced tuition rates of 40% or 50% to eligible Community College of Philadelphia students, alumni, employees, board members, and immediate family members who participate in Drexel University Online programs and courses. Pierce College Tuition Discount
College employees, spouses and dependent children (as defined by the IRS 1040) can get a 25% discount on tuition at Peirce College for any of their associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree programs. For more information, go to Pierce College's website.
Southern New Hampshire University Tuition Discount
The following benefits are available to eligible Community College of Philadelphia graduates, employees and immediate family of employees (spouses, domestic partners, children, siblings and parents):
- Application fee waiver to apply to Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education.
- Ten (10%) percent tuition reduction for Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education courses.
To qualify for these two benefits, individuals must inform Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education admissions representatives of their relationship to Community College of Philadelphia as well note their relationship on Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education application form. Southern New Hampshire University Programs offered at military tuition assistance levels are not subject to this reduction.
