Department of Allied Health

The Allied Health Department offers a variety of degree and certificate programs, designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in health care and aid in career growth.

In addition, it prepares students for the opportunity to transfer to bachelor’s degree programs.

The Associate of Arts degree in Health Care Studies is tailored for students entering the health care profession. Health Services Management prepares students for roles in health care administration and management.

The Associate of Arts degree in Public Health is a multidisciplinary program that emphasizes communication and sociology within the context of community health and health care.

The Associate of Applied Science degrees in Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratory Technician and Respiratory Care Technology focus on developing  both clinical expertise and critical thinking skills needed for these health care professions, as well as preparing students for transfer to bachelor's degree programs

The department also offers three certificate programs in Medical Assistant, Medical Insurance Billing, and Patient Service Representative, that can be completed in nine months. They  are also intended to prepare students for employment and career growth.

If students are uncertain which program and career path is the best fit, consider enrolling in AH 101: Introduction to the Health Care Professions. It's a great way to explore your options and find the right career path!
