New Faculty Program
Welcome!
We are very excited to offer you this year-long program for new full-time faculty, which we have designed around the tenets of a flipped classroom. This means that information important to learning about the structure, policies, and procedures of our institution will be provided to you via an online 'classroom' on Canvas, the College’s Learning Management System. This will allow us to have more interactive face-to-face sessions, which we think will be of most benefit to you as you acclimate to your full-time faculty role at the College.
Sessions are held monthly on select Thursdays from 2:40 to 4:10 pm. Two “all-day” sessions are held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters during Professional Development Week.

Canvas lets you easily integrate technology into your classroom and, while not mandatory, we believe that it is a great way to meet students’ needs in a way that is not bound by place or time. As part of the New Faculty Program, we will introduce you to Canvas so you can become familiar with it and assist your students with utilizing the software.
As noted above, Canvas will house informational brochures, web sites, and resources important to your faculty role as well as serve as a place for new faculty to interact and build a sense of community among your cohort. You can access the Canvas logon page or view a useful guide for new Canvas users.
