Statewide Transfer Agreement

As one of Pennsylvania’s public universities within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), Slippery Rock University is a member of the Pennsylvania Statewide Transfer System, dedicated to accepting the transfer of Associate of Arts (A.A.) and Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees into parallel baccalaureate programs with full junior standing, recognizing all the competencies attained within the associate degree programs. The associate degree may integrate courses to satisfy part of a 30-credit framework.

To benefit from this program-to-program agreement, students must earn an appropriate associate degree before transfer.

Students are encouraged to visit www.pacollegetransfer.net to explore transfer opportunities with institutions that participate in the Statewide Transfer System and to view Community College of Philadelphia courses that are part of the 30 credit framework mentioned above. Courses from the 30 credit framework are recommended to be integrated into a student's degree program at Community College of Philadelphia.

Core-to-Core

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) institutions recognize that students who transfer from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate of Science or an Associate of Arts degree:

Shall have satisfied the general education requirements at the receiving university (in this case, Slippery Rock University). Exceptions may be made for the following, provided that these exceptions do not extend the student’s time to the degree: (a) One signature general education course (up to 3 credits), if applicable; (b) Any prescribed general education course required for the major, if not satisfactorily completed; (c) General education overlays satisfied in advanced courses in the major. Students are encouraged to ask the Slippery Rock University admissions representative about this policy and about a possible signature course required upon transfer to Slippery Rock University.
