Brand Facilities Guidelines

Environmental Branding

Environmental Branding extends the experience of an organization's brand.
Purposeful facility branding enhances our brand and creates excitement, pride, and consistency.

To do so, campus spaces should feel connected to our brand to create a strong sense of place. By using our color palettes, incorporating intentional graphic elements, and properly displaying our college logo and other brand elements, we create inspired spaces that generate excitement and build affinity.

Why It Matters:

  • Creates a cohesive and welcoming experience for first-time visitors, current students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Presents information clearly and consistently to establish a sense of place and make navigating campus easier.
  • Builds stronger, long-lasting brand affinity for visitors, students, employees, and alumni.

Our brand is more than just our logo and colors – it is about how people feel when they step foot on campus.

Guidelines

When someone enters a physical space on any of our campuses, it should immediately look and feel like Community College of Philadelphia, whether through paint, fabrics, flooring, furniture, or other materials used in a room. All logos and design assets must be used in accordance with CCP’s Brand Guidelines.

Environmental branding is a collaborative effort between Brand Management, Strategic Communications, and Facilities Management.

Key Elements of Environmental Branding

Signage

Signage and wayfinding are highly visible brand elements that enhance the visitor experience. This includes building directional signage, kiosk signs, parking area signs, awnings, lit signs, logo statues, and digital signage.

Finishes

Facilities Management has a space planning designer to ensure that brand standards are met when spaces are updated. Paint colors, furnishings, fabric choices, carpet, and flooring choices all need to align with the approved system to create functional branded environments. For example, an accent wall in a bright branded yellow or dynamic blue adds vibrancy and creates a welcoming atmosphere.

Banners, Wall and Window Vinyl, Glass Panels

Banners, wall vinyl, and glass panels offer additional opportunities to add branding across campus. CCP employs various banners, including street banners, light post banners on the main campus, and pull-up banners for departments and programs. All banners should be designed by Strategic Communications and adhere to branding guidelines. Similarly, window or wall vinyl and large branded glass panels contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment.
