This spring the College celebrated the accomplishments of another cohort of future nurses with an in-person ceremony where 98 students graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing. The ceremony took place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6 in the Bonnell Building with remarks from Dr. Donald Guy Generals; Dr. Vishal Shah, dean of Math, Science and Health Careers; Dr. Barbara McLaughlin, Nursing Department head; Dr. Jean Byrd, assistant professor of Nursing; student speakers and others.
This year the College hosted the first ever ROARchella, an outdoor event to celebrate springtime and our College community’s full-time return to campus.
Our College Community enjoyed a number of exciting events this spring. The Art department held its annual April is Art exhibit as well as a prof. Terry Peterson’s show and art talk “Under the Tutelage.”
After more than a year of virtual events, we were thrilled to once again host a number of on-campus events during the fall 2021 semester. From remembering 9/11 to honoring our veterans on Veterans Day, to the pinning ceremony for our Diagnostic Imaging graduates, the reopening of Grady's Garden and the Thanksgiving Grab-and-Go lunch giveaway and more, we welcomed the opportunity to once again come together as a community in person. On December 13, Dr. Generals hosted many of our employees at the new Library and Learning Commons (LLC) for a Holiday Campfire, a pre-holiday celebration honoring years of service to the College. Employees with a milestone of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 years of service were invited to enjoy an afternoon of seasonal fun on the new LLC patio as part of their recognition for their years of commitment to the College and our students. In addition, adjunct faculty who have achieved 64 seniority units were also acknowledged.
ESL Institute Spring 2022 Information Sessions
All students who are interested in enrolling in spring 2022 ESL Institute courses are encouraged to join us for an information session. We will discuss the ESL institute classes, testing and registration process. Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance in order to ensure you receive the Zoom link.
On Tuesday, Sept. 7, Senator Casey joined Dr. Generals and members of the College community to tour the Career and Advanced Technology Center (CATC), opening in 2022. The CATC will bring career training and community building to the forefront of our neighborhoods through state-of-the-art facilities, support for local entrepreneurship, and hands-on learning experiences for fields that are in demand.
Community College of Philadelphia hosted a socially distanced, in-person pinning ceremony to celebrate the 34 students who have successfully completed the College’s Post-Baccalaureate Accelerated Associate Degree in Nursing program. These students represent the second cohort of the program. The ceremony was held on Thursday, Aug. 26 on Main Campus. Congratulations, graduates!
Catto Scholars starting in Fall 2021 joined Catto Scholars who started their journeys in Spring 2021 for the Catto Scholarship Family Reunion. The gathering, held outside on Aug. 5 at the Main Campus Winnet Student Life Courtyard, included faculty and staff who were on hand to share student support and campus life information, as well as swag, games, giveaways and live music by Spring Garden Records artist, DJ June Rodriguez. Mayor Kenney and Dr. Generals welcomed scholars to the event.
Enrollment in the College’s Tuition Payment Plan for Fall 2021 is available ONLINE via the MyCCP portal beginning July 6, 2021. The payment plan takes into consideration pending financial aid and company billing when calculating the plan amount. The payment plan also offers the option to enroll in automatic payments
Students interested in enrolling can log onto MyCCP and select the Enroll in a/View Your Payment Plan link under the Financial Services channel. For more information about the Fall 2021 Tuition Payment Plan, select the Fall 2021 Payment Plan Information link under the Financial Services Channel.
