Ruqayyah Archie is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Department Head for Business Administration. Professor Archie teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Nonprofit Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II and Tax accounting. 

Prior to joining Community College of Philadelphia, she taught as an online adjunct at various colleges and universities as well as held multiple positions within the accounting field to include an Accounting Supervisor, Director of Finance, and  Professor Archie is currently working towards completing her EdD in Educational Leadership and Management where her research proposal focuses on the lived experiences of accounting students during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mark has been at CCP for more than 30 years. He taught in the Automotive Program for three years, and has since taught in the Business department. Courses taught include Introduction to Business, Principles of Management, Management Information Systems, Principles of Marketing, Human Resource Management, Creative Selling, Operations Management, Financial and Managerial Accounting, Macro and Micro Economics, and Statistics. Interests include Startups and Advertising.

Mansour Farhat is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).  Prior to his teaching career, Professor Farhat worked in public accounting at a medium-size CPA firm in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  His experience includes auditing, taxation (personal corporate, partnership and not- for-profit), and compilations and reviews of financial statements.  Professor Farhat holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and master’s degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.  

Rebecca GarvinRebecca Garvin

Prior to joining the Community College of Philadelphia in 2018, Rebecca worked as a senior economist in the Economic Analysis and Information branch of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In this position, she provided economic analysis of regional labor market data for the media, private business, and general public through customized presentations, reports, and news releases. During this time, she also taught economics at Rowan College at Burlington County. In 2013, Rebecca received her Master’s in Economics from Temple University. She received her Bachelor of Science in economics and Bachelor of Arts in political science from Pennsylvania State University in 2009.

James Healey is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Management in the Business Department at Community College of Philadelphia since 1979.  He holds a BA from the University of Scranton, an MAT from Yale University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the Peace Corps in Turkey.

The range of his business experience extends to the fields of marketing, advertising, publishing, and political campaign consulting in Philadelphia, New York, and Princeton, NJ.

James Johnson volunteered and was honorably discharged from the 7th US Army, Germany.  He attended Temple University evening division for thirteen years earning an ABA, BBA and an MBA degree. Mr. Johnson is also a Certified Public Accountant for the state of Pennsylvania and has held numerous accounting positions in the Not for Profit arena from Jr. Accountant to VP of Finance and returned to Temple University as an Associate Controller.  He has been providing consulting and tax services to small businesses and individuals for over forty years and has taught accounting courses at Arcadia University, LaSalle University and twenty years’ full time at Community College of Philadelphia. 

Barry Johnson is an advisor for 2 CCP student organizations and serves on numerous CCP faculty committees. He is also a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc., a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s Inc., and a ten-year Big Brother, Big Sister mentor.

Prior to joining the Community College of Philadelphia in fall 2020, Chris worked for 14 years in capital markets at BNP Paribas, JP Morgan Chase, and State Street with 10 of those years in managerial roles. He began his career in academia by teaching finance and economics graduate courses as an Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at Goldey-Beacom College in 2017, and undergraduate finance and economics courses at Lincoln University in spring of 2018. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Delaware State University, a master's degree in economics from University of Delaware as well as a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University.

Mike is an assistant professor at Community College of Philadelphia. He has taught various business course at CCP and other colleges for over 30 years. He has also worked as a mortgage loan officer, financial planner and consultant. He is currently a licensed mortgage loan officer, real estate agent and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). His interests include real estate investing and personal financial planning.

Karen Yancey has been teaching for over 10 years in both the classroom and online modalities. She facilitates undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and statistics. Prior to teaching, Professor Yancey spent 15 years in the investment arena, working with Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley and as Deputy Treasurer for the City of Philadelphia. She holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Temple University, a Masters in Government Administration and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Temple University, with a major in Statistics.
