Teaching Philosophy

I have multiple goals in my classes. In addition to learning the course content, I hope to increase the student's, reading, writing and critical thinking abilities. The instructor should model academic discourse for the student. I also believe that encouraging understanding of and appreciation of written texts, both primary sources and the textbook, is essential to the college experience.
