Kristen Ainscoe currently serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Drexel University and Adjunct Professor at Community College of Philadelphia. She is devoted to preparing students for entry into professional environments and a global marketplace. Ms. Ainscoe’s courses taught concentrate on principles and disciplines in visual merchandising, product development, digital strategies, social media content management, and collection development and reflect her 10 years of industry experience as a visual merchandiser, buyer, trainer and product developer.

Prior to her career in academia, Ms. Ainscoe gained industry expertise as a Visual Merchandising Manager for Fashion Bug and Movado Group and a buyer at Electronics Boutique and FAO, Inc before devoting her time to small business owners trying to stay in business during the age of Amazon. As an entrepreneur, she works with businesses on window designs, store layouts, fixture solutions, social media strategies and ecommerce development. Her area of expertise is examining the needs of each business and executing an idea that will tell a story about the store, customer and/or product. She currently still works as a consultant, helping to build up smaller brands to ensure appropriate market competition.

Kristen Ainscoe is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Retail Merchandising from Drexel University. She received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in Design & Merchandising from Drexel University.

Shante Antrom is presently a Visiting Lecturer Diversity Fellow here in Community College of Philadelphia’s Business and Technology Division.  She has taught Business Leadership since Fall 2017 as adjunct faculty. Prior to joining the college, Shante operated a consulting business, Crossway Management Group, where she partnered with local nonprofit organizations, small businesses and international companies to assess opportunities and facilitate strategic growth decisions. 

Shante is an Accredited Financial Counselor with the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE), has a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University, a Bachelor of Business Administration, from Temple University’s Fox School of Business Management, and is currently studying for her Doctorate in Education Leadership at Saint Joseph’s University.

Ruqayyah Archie is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Program Coordinator for Accounting and Business Accelerated. Professor Archie teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Nonprofit Accounting, and Tax accounting. 

Prior to joining Community College of Philadelphia, she taught as an online adjunct at various colleges and universities as well as held multiple positions within the accounting field to include an Accounting Supervisor, Director of Finance, and Tax Accountant. Professor Archie is currently working towards completing her PhD in Business Management with a specialization in Accounting where her research interest determines the correlation between the effectiveness of online accounting education versus in class accounting education.

Mark has been at CCP for more than 30 years. He taught in the Automotive Program for three years, and has since taught in the Business department. Marvin Cohen has been teaching at CCP for over 52 years.  Courses taught include Business Law, Introduction to Law and the Legal System, Management 121, Management 141, Marketing 131, Introduction to Real Estate, Real Estate Practice, Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Law.  Mr. Cohen has been practicing law for over 50 years specializing in Commercial Law and Real Estate Law.  He makes every effort to bring his passion for both law and business including current events into the classroom.

Mansour Farhat is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).  Prior to his teaching career, Professor Farhat worked in public accounting at a medium-size CPA firm in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  His experience includes auditing, taxation (personal corporate, partnership and not- for-profit), and compilations and reviews of financial statements.  Professor Farhat holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and master’s degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the Community College of Philadelphia in 2018, Rebecca worked as a senior economist in the Economic Analysis and Information branch of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In this position, she provided economic analysis of regional labor market data for the media, private business, and general public through customized presentations, reports, and news releases. During this time, she also taught economics at Rowan College at Burlington County. In 2013, Rebecca received her Master’s in Economics from Temple University. She received her Bachelor of Science in economics and Bachelor of Arts in political science from Pennsylvania State University in 2009.

James Healey is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Management in the Business Department at Community College of Philadelphia since 1979.  He holds a BA from the University of Scranton, an MAT from Yale University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the Peace Corps in Turkey.

The range of his business experience extends to the fields of marketing, advertising, publishing, and political campaign consulting in Philadelphia, New York, and Princeton, NJ.

James Johnson volunteered and was honorably discharged from the 7th US Army, Germany.  He attended Temple University evening division for thirteen years earning an ABA, BBA and an MBA degree. Mr. Johnson is also a Certified Public Accountant for the state of Pennsylvania and has held numerous accounting positions in the Not for Profit arena from Jr. Accountant to VP of Finance and returned to Temple University as an Associate Controller.  He has been providing consulting and tax services to small businesses and individuals for over forty years and has taught accounting courses at Arcadia University, LaSalle University and twenty years’ full time at Community College of Philadelphia. 

Barry Johnson is an advisor for 2 CCP student organizations and serves on numerous CCP faculty committees. He is also a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc., a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s Inc., and a ten-year Big Brother, Big Sister mentor.

Dr. Madison earned her Ph.D. from Auburn University, M.S. from The University of Alabama, and a B.S. from the University of Missouri all in the study of hospitality management. She joined the CCP family in 2017. She teaches Intro to Hospitality, Hospitality Marketing, Dining Room Management, Hospitality Law, Intro to Event Management, and Intro to Tourism to name a few. Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Dr. Madison taught at Troy University and worked in the hospitality industry in event planning, hotels, country clubs, and various food service operations. Dr. Madison works to create outside learning opportunities that connects students with industry partners to develop and grow students’ careers.

William has over 25 years being active in the auto industry. His first two years were spent as a technician in an automotive machine shop. From there he spent 8 years working in Ford and Saturn dealerships. He has been with the college for over 15 years. Having graduated with an A.A.S degree in Automotive Technology as well as being a Ford ASSET graduate, he is also a Master level ASE Technician, G1 certifications, and Service Consultant certifications.

William is active with many of the local high school automotive schools as an active advisory board member as well as being involved with the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) as a High School Skills Competition Planning Committee Member.

Chef Andy graduated from CCP’s Culinary Arts program in 1998 and has a passion for educating tomorrow’s top culinary students. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from American Intercontinental. Chef Andy has taught numerous courses over the last twelve years including: Elementary Baking & Pastry, Advanced Food Production, Nutrition, & Finishing, American Cuisine, and Quantity Food Preparation. He also enjoys watching soccer in his spare time and is an avid Philadelphia sports’ fan. He can be seen driving his Eagle’s Tailgating Bus down the Schuylkill Expressway headed to Lot P where he finds innovative and creative ways to cook and entertain his tailgating group.

Daniel has 25 years of experience in the automotive field. He earned his A.A.S degree in Automotive Technology from Gloucester County College. From there he was placed full time in a Ford dealership. Daniel has been a full-time instructor for the Community College of Philadelphia for the Automotive Technology Program since 2001.  Later in 2010 Daniel earned his B.S. degree from Chestnut Hill College in computer science.  His lifelong passion for all things automotive and technology keeps him up to date with regular professional certifications as an ASE Master Technician with L1, G1, and X1 certifications as well as certifications from Snap-On, Honda, and Ford.  Daniel currently teaches automotive classes in engine repair, engine performance, and manual transmissions.

Chef Amanda completed her A.O.S. degree from The Culinary Institute of America. She has been at CCP since 2018 where she serves as the instructional aid for the Culinary Arts and Tourism & Hospitality Management programs. Chef Amanda completes all tasks related to budgeting and ordering for courses and ensuring students and faculty have everything they need to achieve their goals. She also focuses on reducing food waste and eliminating hunger on campus by repurposing food from the culinary courses. On the weekends, she can be found making some of the best brownies and dips this side of the Mississippi or volunteering to feed Philly’s underserved populations.

Richard Saxton has been a fulltime faculty member for over 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Temple University, and a Master of Science degree in Education from Capella University. After he finished his bachelor’s degree and joined the workforce, he realized he loved to work with his hands and attended an automotive technology trade school.  After working on cars for seven years, he decided to join his degree in communications together with his knowledge of cars, and found a job as a diagnostic editor in European vehicle diagnostics information for the Chilton Book Company.

Mr. Saxton continues to attend manufacturer training, educational professional development, and is an ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) Master Automobile Technician, and holds Advanced Engine Performance Specialist and Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist certificates. Currently, he is working on completing his ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck Technician and Alternate Fuels certifications.

Mike is an assistant professor at Community College of Philadelphia. He has taught various business course at CCP and other colleges for over 30 years. He has also worked as a mortgage loan officer, financial planner and consultant. He is currently a licensed mortgage loan officer, real estate agent and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). His interests include real estate investing and personal financial planning.

Dr. Jocelyn Sirkis is an Assistant Professor in the Business Administration Department. She currently teaches Business Leadership courses, and has also taught Introduction to Business (MNGT 121), Principles of Management (MNGT 141), and Management Information Systems (MNGT 142). 

She began her career as an Aerospace Engineer and Mission Controller at General Electric’s Satellite Division before moving into Management Consulting at a subsidiary of Coopers & Lybrand and IBM. There, she consulted for Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, Bristol Myer Squibb, Ford Motor Company, and Owens Corning. Later, she became an internal consultant and leadership coach at Johnson & Johnson. She has worked at Community College of Philadelphia since 2007, initially as the Director of Professional Development for faculty and staff. She became an adjunct instructor in 2014 and a full-time faculty member in the Business Administration Department in 2018. 

Dr. Sirkis earned a BS in Physics from Stony Brook University, MBA in Management from Rutgers University, MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, and DM (Doctor of Management) from the University of Maryland University College. Her interests include the juxtaposition between management and leadership, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness.

Chef Bill is a member of the American Culinary Federation, a Master BBQ Cook, and judge of the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Previous courses taught at CCP over the past seven years include: CAHM 151, CAHM 161, CAHM 170, CAHM 171, CAHM 210 and CAHM 211. Chef Bill has an extensive background in residential dining, catering, and country clubs. Prior to joining the CCP family, Chef Bill taught at Southern New Hampshire University and worked food service at the University of New Hampshire, Dartmouth University, Harvard University, and the Abenaqui Country Club. In his free time, you can find him cooking Eastern European cuisine especially Hungarian, playing golf, sightseeing in Philadelphia, and watching the Phillies.

My name is Karen Yancey. I have been teaching for over 10 years in both the classroom and online modalities. I facilitate undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and statistics. Prior to teaching, I spent 15 years in the investment arena, working with Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley and as Deputy Treasurer for the City of Philadelphia. I hold a Master of Arts in Economics from Temple University, a Masters in Government Administration and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Temple University, with a major in Statistics.
