Work by successful local artist and CCP alum, Jonathan Lyndon Chase, will be on display in the Madeline Cohen Gallery, 2nd floor Mint Building, Main Campus, 10/6 - 11/14.
Jonathan Lyndon Chase is an interdisciplinary artist principally working in modes of painting, video and sculpture depicting queer black love and community amid the backdrop of urban and domestic spaces.
This event is free and available to view during the Mint Building's open hours.
The artist will visit the Main Campus' Art and Design Department and present a talk on Thursday October 16th from 12:30-1:30 PM in room M2-20. This event is also free and open to the public

The drive will start on Monday, October 27, 2025 and end on Tuesday December 2, 2025. All donations can be brought to either S3-03 or M2-34.

Join us, the Institute for Community Engagement and Civic Leadership, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 4:30pm - 7pm for a Volunteer Service Day at CHOSEN 300!
CHOSEN 300 provides meals and services to those who are experiencing homelessness and food insecurity here in Philadelphia and beyond. We will be traveling to their Center City location at 1116 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia PA, 19123 to assist with their Indoor Meal Program. Volunteers will help with setting up the room, serve meals to the guests, and assist with clean up.

Here we will be chopping vegetables, packing meals, filling meal trays, making sandwiches, and baking (among other tasks for the day). Non-Violent Communication Workshop: Movement/Play of Intimacy

This workshop invites participants to explore the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) through the transformative lens of the arts. Blending movement, visual expression, storytelling, and reflective dialogue, participants will engage in creative processes that cultivate empathy, emotional awareness, and authentic connection. Through guided artistic activities, participants learn to recognize feelings and needs—both their own and others’—as a foundation for compassionate communication and conflict transformation. The workshop emphasizes experiential learning, offering a safe, supportive environment for play, vulnerability, and self-discovery. By integrating art-making with NVC practices, participants deepen their capacity to listen, express, and respond with presence and creativity, fostering healing and understanding in personal and community relationships.

During this upcoming Christmas season, join the Institute for Community Engagement and Civic Leadership for its annual Adopt-A-Family Holiday Drive. This is an effort to support families in need at local K-12 school here in Philadelphia. Adopt-A-Family and donate non-perishable food items and gifts to make their holiday season one to remember. The drive will start on Monday, October 27, 2025 and end on Tuesday December 2, 2025. All donations can be brought to either S3-03 or M2-34.

In partnership with the American Red Cross, we’ll host a Blood Donation Drive and Health & Resource Fair on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on main campus in the Mint Rotunda.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a life-saving impact by donating blood, while also exploring valuable health and community resources designed to support your well-being.
