Juneteenth Celebration 2025

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a celebration marking the end of slavery in the United States.
Come and enjoy the giveaways, Juneteenth information & music - 11-2pm.
African drumming at 11:30 am
Participate in the drum circle at 1 p.m. - bring your own drum, bell or African shekere,
*Free hot lunch with a menu inspired by traditional African cuisine along with the food traditionally eaten on Juneteenth.

Grady's Community Garden Summer Volunteer Day
Wednesday, June 18, 2025 - 11:00am to 2:00pm
Join us this summer for a volunteer shift in Grady's Community Garden where we will be planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, and more! Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please also bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!
The volunteer shift will start at 11am and end at 2pm, or when all tasks have been completed (whichever comes first).

Volunteer Day at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore
Wednesday, June 25, 2025 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Join the Institute for Community Engagement and Civic Leadership on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 1pm-4pm as we volunteer at Habitat for Humanity! Habitat for Humanity's ReStore locations are the home store and donation center of Habitat Philadelphia and a one-stop shop for furniture, electronics, décor and building materials at a fraction of the retail price. Here we will assist with construction and repair needs, along with any other duties needed during the shift.
Their location is at 2318 Washington Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19146 and is accessible through public transit.
