Shanice

I came here in 2013, and I was pursuing piano performance. I then discovered CCP had a Sound Recording Technology program so I took that as a second major. I was enjoying all of that! I went to Liberty University first, but found out that it wasn’t accredited. I have one more year and then I plan to attend Temple University where I plan to study Piano Performance or Vocal Performance. I’m trying to do both though!

Being here [Community College of Philadelphia] has given me a lot of real-world experiences. I joined the jazz ensemble here and we get paid to perform at shows. CCP also just started a new record label called Spring Garden Records. They had their signing party not too long ago, and I recently signed on as an artist to the label. It’s kind of scary because I’ve never been in the artist spotlight; I’m used to being the musician. Long-term, I plan to perform as an artist and to teach piano and vocal performance. I want to inspire young kids looking to do the same as me, and to be themselves!
