Jessica

I applied to Community College of Philadelphia and I started working towards getting all of the requirements for the Nursing program. A couple of mishaps, but I’m here. I got in and I graduate at the end of May. I always had an inkling that I wanted to help people. I was always the friend that had everything in her bag—toothpicks, ibprofen or something. I just loved helping people. But I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do. It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my son that I fell in love with the idea of pregnancy. Going through the Nursing program, I find that my passion is still nursing.

I’m currently enrolled at West Chester. I’m not taking any classes yet but I start in the fall there—at the end of summer. I should be done sometime in 2018. I do want to pursue a master’s, possibly a doctorate at some point. We’ll see where this takes me…

Editor's Update: Jessica graduated from the College in May 2017 and is now continuing her education at West Chester University while working at Oakwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia.
