So when I initially went to Penn State, I was studying Physical Therapy. And I would’ve sworn up and down that that is what I wanted to do because I was so involved in athletics. I was boxing for six years, my senior year in high school I was a rower, I was running cross country and I was just like, OK this is what I want to do. But, the Philadelphia School District is a little weird. I wasn’t as prepared nor was I as mature as I am now to really buckle down and study. So when I was up there taking science and math courses, at the time I was just like, OK, I’m not really sure if this is what I really want to do. And also, finance and accounting is something I initially wanted to study, but I backed out of it just because I saw it as a barrier.

I walk around with my vision board on me—it’s in my mind—every day when I wake up! [Next stop is Temple University.] I really, really, really am going to work hard. After I finish Temple, my plan is to go into Big 4 Accounting. But before that, I’m going to get my Master’s in Data Analytics from Temple. So after I get my undergrad, I’ll go and I’ll take my GMATs, and then I’ll go for Data Analytics, which is like a 30-credit program, so it’ll take me about a year. And then after that I’ll go into Big 4 for about five years, work and get a lot of experience. And then, my plan is to go to either Harvard, Berkeley or UCLA to get an MBA and then work again—more in like the financial sector. And then figure out how to write a business proposal and start a business. In my mind, I want to start a business that helps people from African American communities develop more financial aptitude and to teach them how to manage finances better!
