Free SEPTA Key Cards for CATC and West Regional Center Students
SEPTA's Key Advantage UPass Program
Through a new pilot initiative in partnership with SEPTA’s Key Advantage UPass Program, Career and Advanced Technology Center (CATC) and West Regional Center students enrolled in a program with six or more noncredit/credit hours that lasts at least four weeks qualify for free monthly SEPTA Key Cards, fully subsidized by the College. The pass provides 240 rides per month, or the equivalent of an Anywhere Trailpass, for the spring 2026 semester.
First, eligible students will need to sign up for this program with an existing Key card or get a Key card from the College.

Signing Up for the SEPTA Key Advantage UPass Program
Key cards must first be registered at www.septakey.org in order to enroll.
You will then receive an email from hello@jawntpass.com and enroll with your Card Reference ID. Jawnt, a SEPTA transit benefit provider, will provide customer service and assistance to help you with enrollment at support@jawntpass.com or (267) 762-2694.
How to Find Your Card Reference ID
If you already have a Key card: Log in to your account on www.septakey.org using your username and password. (If you have forgotten your password, click "Forgot password?" to the right of the "Sign In" button to reset it.) Once you have logged in, on the left side of the screen, you'll see your account details. Locate the SEPTA Key card you wish to use with this benefit, and click on “Card Options” to open the Card Options menu. Then, from the Card Options menu, click “Card Reference ID.” This will open a popup menu containing your Card Reference ID. Copy and paste this ID into the enrollment page in Jawnt.
If you have a new Key card: You must register the card first at www.septakey.org, creating a username and password. After doing this, you can follow the steps listed above.
Please see FAQs provided by Jawnt
Can I share my SEPTA Key card with a friend or family member?
No, the SEPTA Key card is intended to be used only by the eligible student. If you are enrolled in the SEPTA Key Advantage Program, you cannot let someone else use your Key Card. This includes other eligible members. Sharing your Key Card is a violation of your institution’s policy as well as SEPTA policy.
What if I’m over the age of 65?
Senior citizens, age 65 and older, with a valid Senior Fare Card, ride FREE at all times on all SEPTA Metro modes (L, B, T, G, D, M), city and suburban buses, and on SEPTA Regional Rail within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please apply for the SENIOR FARE CARD program rather than enrolling in the SEPTA Key Advantage Program.
If you use SEPTA for travel to the states of Delaware or New Jersey, you should participate in the SEPTA Key Advantage Program if eligible to avoid out-of-state travel fees. Additionally, if you are a SEPTA Access Paratransit rider, you should enroll in the SEPTA Key Advantage Program if eligible in order to have your rides be taken from your All-Access Pass.
What do I do if my Key Card is lost, stolen, damaged or expired?
Your current All-Access pass can be transferred onto a new card. Once you obtain a new card, log into your Key Card account, and select "Card Options." Then select "Report Lost/Stolen (Hotlist)" and follow the prompts to transfer the product onto your new card. Your new Card Reference ID will need to be updated immediately in your Jawnt account.
What if I use both PATCO and SEPTA for my commute?
If you currently use PATCO and SEPTA to commute with a Freedom Card, you will need to start using the Freedom card only for travel on PATCO and obtain a SEPTA Key Card for travel on SEPTA. The SEPTA Key Card will need to be registered under the SEPTA Key Advantage Program as detailed above.
