Course Registration

  • Course Registration of all New Students including Transfer and ESL  (Students will be directed to sign up for a SOAR event, except for the last week before the semester begins; during this week walk-ins will be accepted.)
  • Students on Probation must see Counselors  to register for courses and withdraw from courses. Counselors also discuss all types of Probation with students.
  • Course Registration for Guest and Readmit students/ To discuss Readmission to College

Academic Progress

  • To explain Finanical Aid Warning,  Financial Aid Appeal Process and SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress)
  • Discuss concerns about academic performance , changing curriculum, dual admission and course Withdrawal
  • Discuss and access eligibility for Academic Amnesty and Time Amnesty Request
  • Complete Curriculum Change Form
  • Schedule appointment for Career Counseling and Transfer Counseling/Planning

Personal Counseling

  • To address personal issues / Personal Counseling/ Provide Community Resources
  • For Crisis Intervention/ Counselors assess the crisis and level of intervention needed. If necessary, the Counselors will follow the protocol needed given the situation. (For emergencies, please call 911 or security at 8111)

International students

  • International  Student Extension Requests  and Request for F-1 leave for reduced enrollment form

Other Counseling Services

  • Class Visits to discuss
    • Campus resources
    • Classroom management issues
    • Crisis Debrief (e.g., If a student passes away or if there was an issue in the classroom)
  • Student Success Workshops
  • Group Counseling  (e.g. Grief group, P.O.W.E.R. and Communications Groups)
  • Allied Health Select Program Applications (including Nursing and DMI workshops)
  • Faculty consults/department visits to discuss classroom management issues
  • Mediation between students /student and professor (if appropriate)
