Healthy Relationships & Intimate Partner Violence for Student-Athletes
This interactive workshop is designed specifically for student-athletes and explores the foundations of healthy relationships, effective communication, boundaries, consent, and respect. Participants will examine how power, control, and unhealthy relationship behaviors can impact personal well-being, academic success, and team dynamics. The session also provides an overview of intimate partner violence, warning signs of abuse, bystander intervention strategies, and resources available for support. Through discussion and real-world scenarios, student-athletes will gain practical tools to foster healthy relationships and contribute to a culture of respect both on and off the field.
Please note that all participants must adhere to our mandatory gymnasium attire and footwear requirements. Appropriate athletic attire that fully covers the midsection is required. The following items are not permitted on the gymnasium floor: clothing with exposed zippers, khakis, jeans, Vans, Converse, Crocs, boots, Nike boots, and any other non-athletic footwear. Only sneakers with non-marking soles are permitted on our state-of-the-art gymnasium floor.
