Session #1 How Philly Works - #CCPVotes Student Leaders for Civic Action Workshop Series

Join #CCPVotes and Committee of Seventy to learn how our local government works and how you can make it work for you!

Philadelphia is known as the birthplace of American Democracy. However, many Philadelphians feel disconnected from their government, leaving many questions and concerns. How Philly Works is dedicated to helping citizens navigate the rules and role of city government.

During the session, we will cover topics such as:
- A brief history of Philadelphia
- Understanding the role of the mayor and administration
- How the city budget is created and why it's important
- Who's on the ballot this November
- And more!

This workshop series is hosted by the Institute for Community Engagement and Civic Leadership. Please contact Olivia Edwards, Community Engagement Specialist, at oedwards@ccp.edu with questions.
