The So-Called ‘Middle’ East and the History of Its Relations with the West as Background to Today’s Confrontations

Dr. Roger Allen will give a public lecture on “The So-Called ‘Middle’ East and the history of its relations with the West as background to today’s confrontations.” His talk will be shaped by our ever- changing international relations which have found new and renewed ‘hot spots’ over the past year.  Dr. Allen last spoke at our College in 2013 when his question mark at the end of his talk title “The Arab Spring?” anticipated future events.  His primary country of study has been Egypt where President Mubarak’s fall in 2011 seemed to many to be so promising.

The lecture will be followed by a meet and greet.

Refreshments will be served.
