Professor Savard will introduce the history of Africans in Cuba and the development of African-Cuban Culture over time. A student panel, made up of students who traveled to Cuba in June 2017 with College faculty and administrators, will discuss the impact of their experience. They will compare observations and ideas on racial identity, perception, harmony and activism between Cuba and the U.S.
