Richard Mshomba, Professor of Economics, La Salle University, author Africa in the Global Economy (2000), and Africa and the World Trade Organization (Cambridge University Press, 2011). Recipient of the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching and theWarren E. Smith Award for Contributions to the Community.

Richard Mshomba was born and raised in the village of Sinon, near the city of Arusha in Tanzania. His BA. is from LaSalle University, his MA in economics from the University of Delaware, and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Returning to LaSalle in 1991, he and his family have visited Tanzania every other summer and engage in community development in Sinon.
