Benjamin Franklin Parkway/Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul – The Work of Immigrant Architects

Meet outside the CBI Building

Walking Tour with Michael Stern (Architecture) and David Prejsnar (Religious Studies).

Benjamin Franklin Parkway/Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul – The Work of Immigrant Architects

Often called the Champs Elyse of Philadelphia, the multiple design influences on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway are international in scope.

The Parkway and its oldest building, the historic Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, reflect the work of architects who were immigrants from France and Scotland. Join professors Stern and Prejsnar as they discuss the architecture, history and religious significance of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and the Cathedral. The Parkway and the Cathedral also reflect the history of immigration and urban planning in Philadelphia.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring an umbrella in case of rain.
