Learning Goals
Participants will:

  • Participants will understand the Fulbright Scholar application process, including eligibility, award types, and proposal strategies.  
  • They will explore teaching strategies for multilingual and low-resource environments, based on real classroom experiences in Algeria.   
  • They will identify ways to apply global insights from a Fulbright experience to their own teaching and curriculum development.     

Seminar Description
This session offers an in-depth introduction to the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, with a focus on application strategies, award types, and proposal development tailored college faculty. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the program’s structure, timeline, and expectations, along with practical insights into crafting a competitive application that aligns with both personal scholarship and institutional priorities. The second half of the session will feature reflections from a recent Fulbright Scholar experience in Algeria, highlighting pedagogical adaptations in multilingual, resource-constrained classrooms and the professional impact of cross-cultural academic engagement. Attendees will benefit from both strategic guidance and grounded, experiential perspectives, making this session ideal for faculty seeking to expand their global teaching, research, and leadership horizons. A one-page Fulbright resource guide will be provided to support next steps.
