Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania
(Note: This on-line, self-paced program will take 3+ hours to complete. Faculty members who do not complete the program during the scheduled session can finish the training at home or in their offices. Upon submission of a Certificate of Completion, adjuncts will receive pay for 4 hours.)

Program Description
In accordance with the College’s Child Abuse Reporting Policy (Policy #162) and the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law, any College employee who may come into contact with children in the course of employment at the College has a mandatory obligation to report child abuse which the employee knows about, sees, or has reasonable cause to suspect. The online training course, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania, will give employees information regarding how to recognize and report child abuse in accordance with the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law. The training takes approximately four hours. It is an online course approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and is offered free of charge by the University of Pittsburgh.
A member of the Human Resources department staff will be available to assist you should there be any access issues. In addition, HR will collect the certification statement of completion provided at the conclusion of the training.
