"Teaching Up" through Differentiated Instruction

From an educational perspective, differentiation means “tailoring instruction to meet individual needs.” Differentiated Instruction encourages instructors to diversify their content, implementation, student assessments/work products, and classroom environment. The Differentiated Instruction Learning Community will work to gain a clear understanding of this approach to instruction. Additionally, the community will review the learning needs of diverse populations of students, explore the characteristics of a student-centered classroom and outline the pedagogy of differentiated instruction. We know students have different learning styles and needs; how can we modulate our instruction in response?
