This Women’s History month Diversity Dialogue will focus on the women who pioneered during the Civil Rights Movement. During this event, we want to show homage to the work that women did during the King era...like Dorothy Height and Fannie Lou Hamer. Ms. Hamer was instrumental in women's voting rights. The movements to secure the vote for blacks and for women were going on at the same time. There has been plenty written lately about the female leaders of the civil rights movement, whose accomplishments have been largely overlooked because men have been the primary storytellers.
