General Information:

This transfer guide is developed in support of the program-to-program guaranteed admissions Agreement between Community College of Philadelphia and York College of Pennsylvania. It shows how the requirements for the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Nursing at Community College of Philadelphia transfer to York College of Pennsylvania's online Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Nursing (RN to BSN) and the coursework required at York College of Pennsylvania after transfer.

Admissions into York College of Pennsylvania's online RN to BSN program requires completion of the A.A.S. in Nursing with at least a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. To receive transfer credit, courses must be completed with a grade of C (C=2.0) or better. Students are also expected to obtain and hold a valid and unencumbered RN license. Community College of Philadelphia graduates who have yet to pass the NLCEX but wish to begin their studies may be offered conditional admittance to York College of Pennsylvania's RN to BSN program. These students may take up to 9 credits before they will require a valid RN license to continue their progress in the program.

York College of Pennsylvania will accept 51 credits from the A.A.S. in Nursing at Community College of Philadelphia through "Block Credit" allowing the student. With the additional courses listed in this transfer guide, students will receive a total of 72 or 73 credits leading to an equivalent of third-year junior standing at York College of Pennsylvania. York College of Pennsylvania's online RN to BSN program offers six start dates per year.
