General Information:
This transfer guide is developed in support of the program-to-program agreement between the Maryland Institute College of Art and Community College of Philadelphia. It shows how the requirements for the Associate in Art (A.A.) in Art and Design at Community College of Philadelphia transfer to the Maryland Institute College of Art's Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A,) and the coursework required at the Maryland Institute College of Art after transfer.
To receive transfer credit, the courses must be substantially equivalent to courses offered in the curriculum at the Maryland Institute College of Art and courses must be completed with a grade of C (C=2.0) or better. Submission of a portfolio and a minimum 2.0 final cumulative Community College of Philadelphia grade point average (GPA) must be earned to gain admission to this program.
Completion of the A.A. in Art and Design at Community College of Philadelphia will allow the student to achieve the equivalent of third-year junior standing at the Maryland Institute College of Art. The maximum number of credits that can transfer to the Maryland Institute College of Art is 60 credits.
