One Button Studio - Simple, High-Quality, Video Creation Studio

Don’t forget that the College has created two (soon to be three-) OneButtonStudios! These are available in C3-27 (CBI) and the NWRC Library study room NW117C.
One Button StudioWe installed these in response to the overwhelming interest in students having a high-quality, easy to use, video production “studio” available for a variety of reasons. Among these might be: practice oral presentations; mock work-interview; video interview projects with other students; or any reason a student would like to see a video of themselves.
All of the elements of video production are pre-installed and calibrated. The user simply walks in, plugs in a USB drive (with FAT format, minimum of 500 MB free) and hits the silver OneButton to begin recording. There are marks on the floor to indicate where to stand and the user also has a 55” touch-enabled flat screen computer that will display PowerPoint slides or may also be used as an electronic whiteboard. For the more adventuresome user the flat panel may be moved aside and the green or blue LED ring preinstalled on the camera may be turned on the create “green screen” recordings that can be edited with video editing software available either on their personal device or on some of the SACC computers.
So, please advertise the availability of the OneButtonStudio to your students! Also, please consider creating assignments within your course that may leverage this technology to construct better scaffolding within and across disciplines that result in learning consistent with higher order measurable outcomes.
