Juneteenth recognizes the day freedom came to enslaved Black people in Texas in 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Learn more about Juneteenth and celebrate with us.
Join us for a Juneteenth Day of Freedom Celebration, hosted by the Office of Student Engagement and Belonging. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come together to honor and celebrate Juneteenth through food, a presentation on the significance of the holiday, and an opportunity for reflection and community engagement. This event recognizes the importance of freedom, history, and cultural awareness while fostering connection and dialogue across the College community.
