Teaching HEAVY

Teaching Heavy: Practical Ideas for Integrating Excerpts of the One Book, One College Selection

Presenter: Professor Ravyn Davis
Description: We know the burden of integrating new materials into a course plan; therefore, we would like to offer concrete ways to energize a course with worthwhile College-wide reading. This session will cover practical lesson-plan ideas for faculty who are interested in integrating Heavy: An American Memoir into their spring courses.  Lessons will use chapters from the book and other open-resource materials that can be worked into a number of courses. Faculty will be given access to the Canvas page where the lesson plan ideas will be housed, and all are invited to use the resources as they choose to infuse Heavy: An American Memoir into their courses.

Dates: Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 3-4 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 12-1 p.m

Location: FCTL (B2-36)
