Program Description:
The College's academic early alert system, Starfish Connect, was launched in 2015. This session will provide an overview of the growth of the system across the past 4 years and what the College has learned about utilizing this system as an aid to student success. Special features currently being used in Starfish will be highlighted. Starfish Connect is more than just an academic early alert system but is also used at the College to document student contact with various campus resources such as Advising and Counseling. It is a technological solution that allows touchpoints with students at various points of the semester. It connects students, faculty and student support staff in important ways that can increase student success. The session includes a panel of faculty, student support staff and students who will share their experiences with Starfish Connect and discuss what they have found to be the benefits of the system.
