General Information:

This transfer guide is developed in support of the guaranteed admissions program-to-program agreement between University of the Sciences and Community College of Philadelphia. It shows how the requirements for the A.S. Biology at Community College of Philadelphia transfer to the University of the Sciences B.S. in Biology or Biomedical Sciences or Microbiology and the coursework required at University of the Sciences after transfer. To receive transfer credit, the courses must be substantially equivalent to courses offered in the curriculum at University of the Sciences and courses must be completed with a grade of C (C = 2.0) or better. A minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA is required for admission. A minimum grade of “B” in courses with prefixes: BIOL, MATH and ENGL101, ENGL102. The courses encompassed in the A.S. degree from Community College of Philadelphia must be completed within the 3 years preceding matriculation at University of the Sciences. Students who do not meet these additional requirements can still transfer under this articulation Agreement, subject to University of the Sciences departmental review and approval.

Students interested in transferring to University of the Sciences are strongly urged to contact the University of the Sciences Admission Office early in their enrollment at Community College of Philadelphia for advising.

Some or all of these 6 credits of coursework can be taken at Community College of Philadelphia or after transferring to University of the Sciences (currently included in the 3rd and 4th year at Community College of Philadelphia). If the 6 credits are taken at Community College of Philadelphia, they should be selected from the following lists:
