The College Takes on Merida – Reflections from Our Spring 2018 Study Abroad Experience

During Spring Break 2018, the Center for International Understanding and the Office of Student Life sponsored fourteen students with substantial travel scholarships on the College's study abroad program to Merida, Mexico. This trip was led by Sandra Gonzalez-Torres, Director of Articulation and Transfer, Professor Mildred Savard in the Department of History, Philosophy and Religious Studies, and Professor Stanley L. Walling, from the Department of Social Sciences. This presentation will highlight the College’s “Spring 2018 Cross-Cultural Workshop: Experience the Mayan Culture and the People of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.” Student representatives will share their experience and impressions from visiting three Maya ruins and exploring contemporary life. This event is open to all. Information will be available about our Spring/Summer 2019 Study Abroad destinations and students will be encouraged to apply!

This Latinx Heritage Month event is sponsored by the Center for International Understanding
