Learning Goals

Session participants will have a deeper understanding of our ESL students’ personal challenges.

Program Description

This session will essentially be a deep dive into how the Spring Zoom sessions with one ESL course turned out. The session will provide an overview of our ESL student demographic at CCP; a brief description of the IELP (Intensive English Language Program) since the ESL course in focus began a few days before the pandemic-motivated transition to Zoom; an exploration of how we were able to build community; and details of students challenges and their perseverance. By the end of the session, participants will have a deeper understanding of one of the key demographics at CCP – ESL students; by zooming in on their lives, this session ultimately aims to advocate and develop empathy for our English Learners.
