Food Day Celebration

A goal of World Food Day is to help end hunger by wasting less, eating right and producing real food. Adopt a more healthy and sustainable diet, and advocate for #ZEROHUNGER. We invite you to celebrate the day and see how we are providing access to foods that help our community grow.

Activities include:

Garden Ribbon Cutting
9 to 10 a.m. | Between the Bonnell Building and 17th Street’s open lot
Rise and Sunshine! Start the day with us as we unveil the new College garden and announce its official name! Lettuce celebrate growing fresh produce with green smoothies and snacks to prepare for its first greenhouse harvest. If you'd like to help take care of the garden, such as watering and weeding, please complete our volunteer form.
Sponsored by the Center for Student Leadership Development

Support awareness and help end undernourishment by donating non-perishable food items to the food drive on October 24. All goods will be collected at the Expo and donated to the College’s food pantry.

Employees can show their support too! Opt to enroll in payroll deductions that directly support students and the food pantry.

Still want to do more? Student volunteer positions are available. Register to volunteer or contact to find out how you can help.

The Food Day Expo is brought to you by the College‘s Food Collaborative, who is dedicated to addressing our student’s basic needs and providing resources for success. This Food Day celebration, like others around the world, help ensure communities have access to food they need, at a cost they can afford and at a rate they can sustain, all while making smart food choices.
