Flipped Classroom Learning Community

Melissa Altman-Traub ( ), FCTL Fellowship Recipient

Flipped Learning means focusing the attention on the learner. Some course content is offloaded and becomes homework before the class. Once students acquire a basic literacy in the concepts, vocabulary, history, etc., the time spent in class can be used to work on higher level learning objectives. This could include problem solving, case studies, group projects, constructing models, organizing information into presentations or online data sets, teaching other students, and having meaningful discussions.
