DACA Panel

Join us for a panel discussion as the College supports our DACA students during this time of great uncertainty and stress. Come meet our DACA students and hear their stories, as well as information from DACA legal advocates such as HIAS. Learn what's happening in Washington and how DACA students can protect themselves.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is the program that gives temporary protection to undocumented migrants who arrived in the United States as children. Last fall, President Trump set a deadline to end the DACA program, and unless Congress acts immediately, on March 5, 2018, the DACA program will officially end, and 800,000 young people will begin to lose their DACA protection, including legal employment status, drivers' licenses and protection from deportation. Each day that Congress delays acting on the Dream Act from now until March 5, approximately 122 people a day are losing these protections as they were not allowed to renew their applications in October.

Community College of Philadelphia supports our DACA students and made this official statement in September.
