During matriculation through transfer and/or graduation, participants are eligible to receive support and services in the following areas:

Academic Support

  • Starfsh Education Plan  (Starfish EP)
  • Monitoring of Academic Progress
  • Academic Support Workshops
  • Academic Intervention
  • Tutoring

Financial Aid

  • Grant Aid
  • Financial Aid Workshops
  • Full Financial Aid Packages
  • Financial Literacy Workshops

Who’s Eligible?

The United States Department of Education's federal regulations require that program participants must be one of the following:

  • Low income student - a student whose family or individual student's income falls within the limits established by the U.S. Department of Education and verified by the College;
  • First generation college student - any student whose parent living in the home has not earned a four-year degree at the time of enrollment in TRIO SSS
  • Students with documented disabilities

TRiO SSS Participants must also:

  • Enter the College as full-time students
  • Have academic need
  • Attain certificate and/or associate degree at the College
  • Transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a baccalaureate degree, and
  • Be committed to achievement and success
