During this session, participants will:
1. Learn about the Black Scholars Mentorship program
2. Gain an awareness of issues faced by first generation black students
3. Learn about their role as a mentor for the Black Scholars Mentorship Program

Program Description:
This Fall a new program is being developed to help new first generation black students have more successful retention and completion outcomes. We are requesting faculty and staff of color to serve as mentors for this first class of students. During this workshop, you will learn about the requirements and responsibilities of a mentor and the goals of the program. We will also review the technology that will assist in helping track the students that are participating in the program.
