Teaching Intensive and Accelerated Courses: Instruction that Motivates Learning

The College has recently offered a number of accelerated and intensive courses and programs to motivate learners and increase retention. Instructors, therefore, need continuing professional development to discover what works and what doesn’t. Wlodowski and Ginsberg (2010) provide a motivational framework with culturally responsive instructional methods relevant to nontraditional working adults. Their text will be used as a resource for those interested in maintaining excellent instruction within this new and often challenging framework.
